bandit, ham radio and the thrusday night net

as promised in apost here and a post on the other main blog here the story of one of my cats that get on the air on her own at first

some eyars I picked a mic that would interface with my 2 fmm unit and give it VOX well the first enity to use that mic wasot in fact myself oreven alicense ham operator. It was Bandit, the previous Calico cat (we have had a calico cat in my home for morethan 25 year Kali Mal is the current one) I had set the radio on the repeaterpair for the the thruday night it was thankgiving and I was espond to my friend the net control who was concerned that no one might make it that day since it was thanksgiving day and folksmight not make it.

Well Bandit knew the net control too, and when he called for checkins Bandit heard someone she knew and cried "meoooww"

to which Net Control not thinking of a cat replied "station calling I did not get your callsig please try again".

Bandit of course cried MEEEOOOW" back at him and I realized that it was Bandit have a q with mmy friend.

Net control respond "station not heard clearly"

I then picked up the mike and called this KB9RQZ iding formyself to check and for the .....thrid party traffic Bandit the cat at this station"

"Ah Bandit i shouldhave known...well I will assume that Bandit is in and out and has no traffic for the the net thank for the first check in tonight Bandit, and I have you down Mark KB9RQZ any other check ins at this time?"

The net proceeded from there thankfully form Bandit killing some time and myself as well some other folks did turn in the net that and my station hadit first VOX transmissions and the first 3rd party traffic as well
